On May 13th, 2018, Steven Hlinsky “aka Beaver” died due to an assault that occurred on May 5th, 2018. Steven was born and raised in Forada, MN.
He was an avid farmer, an outstanding father, and an unbelievable caring community member. He was a dedicated individual who served on the Forada First Responders and Forada Fire Department for 28 years, and received many awards for his strong accomplishments as a firefighter.
Steven brought into this world 2 amazing kids, Abby and Dominic. Dominic has taken over the family farming responsibilities at the young age of 25, and serves on the Forada Fire Department. Abby is a Social Worker with Grant County Social Services at the young age of 23, and serves on the Forada First Responders. Steven was not only their father, but their best friend.
Abby and Dominic had their father taken from their lives in the blink of an eye, and are now left with only memories.
The loss of a father at such a young age is something we all hope we never have to face, and these kids are unfortunately facing it. Their lives will never be the same again.
Our foundation, “We Got Your Back Beaver,” created a fundraiser to honor Steven Hlinsky on August 11th, 2018 at Geneva Golf Course. We will be hosting “The 1430 Beaver Cup” along with a silent auction.
Purpose: The purpose of this request is to join together as a community to honor this beloved public servant, Steven Hlinsky, and help his kids with the substantial amount of expenses they are left with.
Request: This request is to kindly ask for a monetary donation in the amount of $500 to help defer expenses and any amounting expenses. Although this is a large amount, we would be honored to accept an amount of your choice. All contributors will be recognized at the event on August 11th, 2018.
